Minister of Tourism, Richard Sealy, greets the Minister’s 11 before the start of Tourism Week’s 20/20 Cricket Match versus the Cricket Legends of Barbados.??

A crowd of locals and tourists enjoyed a night of lovely cricket, as the Ministry of Tourism’s Minister’s 11 competed against the Cricket Legends of Barbados 11 at Dover playing field yesterday.????

Local cricketers leading the legends team for the 20/20 match, which was part of the Tourism Week celebrations, was former West Indies cricketer Ian Bradshaw.?? Jerry Kirton led the Minister’s 11 team.

Tourism Minister, Richard Sealy, was on hand to greet the teams and said he was pleased to see a full house of spectators of both visitors and Barbadians.??

"The first year that I hosted Tourism Week, we had a wonderful cricket match…I thought coming back into the heart of the tourist belt, St. Lawrence, that it would be nice to have a mass [appeal] sport and it’s worked out well," ??the minister explained

The Minister’s 11 featured players from the Ministry of Tourism;?? however, it was the Cricket Legends of Barbados who emerged victorious.?? Sherwin Campbell and Floyd Riefer were part of the winning legends side.

Tourism Week activities will culminate on Saturday, December 11, with a Bajan Pride Expo in Jubilee Gardens from 10:00 a.m.?? It will feature Local arts and craft, as well as food and entertainment.?? The public is invited.????nekaelia.hutchinson@barbados.gov.bb
