The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training will be hosting a series of town hall meetings on the Criterion Referenced Test and National Assessment this month, and in February.

The meetings are aimed at sensitizing parents, teachers and principals about the processes involved in the administration of the test, which assesses children in Infants B, Class 2 and Class 3.

The first set of meetings will be held on Saturday, January 19, at the Alexandra School, Queen Street, St. Peter; Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Cross Roads, St. Philip; and Combermere School, Waterford, St. Michael.

These will be followed by more meetings on Tuesday, January 22, at Wesley Hall Junior School, King Street, St. Michael; Hilda Skeene Primary School, Ruby, St. Philip; and the Blackman and Gollop Primary School, Staple Grove, Christ Church.

On Saturday, January 26, Daryll Jordan Secondary School, Trents, St. Lucy; A. DaCosta Edwards Primary School, Belleplaine, St. Andrew; and Christ Church Foundation School, Church Hill, Christ Church will be the venues for the meetings.

They will continue on Tuesday, January 29, at Graydon Sealy Secondary School, Paddock Road, St. Michael; St. Mark’s Primary School, Blades Hill, St. Philip; and St. Joseph Primary School, Blackman’s, St. Joseph.

The last set of meetings on the Criterion Referenced Test and National Assessment will be held in February. On Saturday, February 2, parents are invited to any of the meetings taking place at The St. Michael School, Martindale’s Road, St. Michael; St. George Primary School, Constant, St. George; and the Church of God of Prophecy (behind Milton Lynch Primary School), Water Street, Christ Church.

The Ellerslie School, Black Rock, St. Michael; St. John’s Primary School, Glebe Land, St. John; and the Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas are the locations for the final meetings on Tuesday, February 5.

Parents are invited to attend the sessions that are nearest to them. All meetings begin at 5:00 p.m.
