PIC-O-DE-CROP FINALS

The last lap for Crop Over 2014 begins on Friday, August 1, when this island???s top calypsonians will compete at Kensington Oval at the Pic-O-De-Crop Finals.

As a result, a number of traffic changes will be in effect to facilitate a smooth flow of vehicles in and around the venue, between 4:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. on that day.

These changes will include the closure of Fontabelle Road from its junction with Kensington New Road to its junction with Holborn Circle; and President Kennedy Drive, from its junction with Westbury Road to its junction with Holborn Circle, St. Michael, to all vehicular traffic.

In addition, no parking will be allowed along the Princess Alice Highway, from its junction with Cowell Street to its junction with Harbour Road, St. Michael.

Police are also advising that vehicles will be allowed to drop off passengers but not park or wait along the following roads. They are: Fontabelle Road, from its junction with Lakes Folly to its junction with President Kennedy Drive; Westbury Road, from its junction with President Kennedy Drive to its junction with Baxters Road; President Kennedy Drive; Redman Drive; Prescod Boulevard; Baxters Road; Eagle Hall Road; Spring Garden Highway and Kensington New Road, St. Michael.

Drivers are also asked to note that during that period, Fontabelle Road will become a one-way street from its junction with Redman Drive to its junction with the Holborn Circle, St. Michael, and traffic will flow in two lanes.
Parking or remaining stationary along the emergency route will be prohibited during that time, unless drivers are dropping off passengers. The emergency route begins at President Kennedy Drive, and proceeds along Westbury Road, Passage Road, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road and Martindale???s Road, St. Michael.

Drivers are asked to take note of these changes and comply with the directions of police officers in uniform.

FOREDAY MORNING JUMP

Motorists are asked to note that between 1:30 and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, a number of traffic changes will be in effect to facilitate the flow of vehicles during the annual Foreday Morning Jump.

The early morning event will start at Weymouth ???B??? Playing Field and move on to the Barbados Investment Inc. and the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation car parks.

As a result, the Spring Garden Highway, from its junction with the Holborn Circle to its junction with the Frank Worrell Roundabout, St. Michael, will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

In addition, vehicles will only be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers along Brighton Road, from its junction with Black Road to its junction with the Spring Garden Highway; Black Rock Road, from its junction with University Drive to its junction with Eagle Hall; Deacons Farm, from its junction with Deacons Road to its junction with Brighton Road; Deacons Road and Westbury Road, St. Michael.

Motorists are also advised that Brighton Road, from its junction with the Spring Garden Highway to its junction with Black Rock Road, will be a one-way street, with traffic travelling in the direction of Black Rock Road.

In addition, parking or waiting are not allowed along the emergency route, which runs from the Spring Garden Highway and proceeds along Exmouth Gap, Westbury Road, Passage Road, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road and Martindale???s Road, St. Michael.

All motorists are asked to comply with the directions of police officers in uniform to facilitate a smooth flow of traffic.
