SOCA ROYALE

When the annual Soca Royale competition comes off at Bushy Park, St. Philip, on Sunday, July 27, a number of traffic changes will be in place.

Motorists are asked to note that between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.,??Bushy Park Road will be a one-way street from its junction at Congo Road to its junction with Oughterson Road, going in the direction of Parish Land. Parking or waiting along that road will also be prohibited.

The latter restriction will also apply to motorists travelling along Congo Road, Padmore Village Road, Gaskin Road, Parish Land Road, Farm Road, Oughterson Road and Fairfield Road, St. Philip.

During that time, there will also be a no parking or waiting policy along the emergency route which starts at Oughterson Road, and proceeds along Church Village Road and Ebenezer Road, St. Philip; continues on to Windsor Road, Highway 5, Boarded Hall Road and South District Road, St. George; along Mapp Hill Road, Government Hill, Welches Road, Belmont Road, and on to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Martindale???s Road, St. Michael.

However, it should be noted that similar restrictions will also apply along the alternative emergency route which runs from Congo Road; passes through Six Roads, Highway 6A, Highland, Foursquare and Woodbourne, St. Philip; on to St. Patrick???s, Searle???s Road, Newton and the ABC Highway in Christ Church, before moving on to Wildey, Collymore Rock, and then to the QEH on Martindale???s Road, St. Michael.

All drivers are asked to comply with the instructions of police officers in uniform.

JUNIOR KADOOMENT

The 2014 Junior Kadooment will be held on Saturday, July 26, at the National Stadium, Stadium Road, St. Michael, resulting in a number of traffic changes between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

These changes include the closure of Codrington Road from its junction with Stadium Road to its junction with Bush Hall Road, and Stadium Road from its junction with Codrington Road to its junction with Bush Hall Main Road, St. Michael, to all vehicular traffic, except those vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

In addition, no parking or waiting will be allowed on Codrington Road, Bush Hall Main Road, Waterford Road, Bow Road or Butler???s Avenue.

Drivers will also be prohibited from parking or waiting along the emergency route which runs from the National Stadium and travels along Bank Hall, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road, and Martindale???s Road, to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

Similar restrictions will apply for the alternative emergency route which also starts at the National Stadium but runs along Butler???s Avenue, Spooners Hill, Green Hill, the Everton Weekes, Clyde Walcott and Norman Niles roundabouts, My Lord???s Hill Road, Welches Road, Belmont Road and on to Martindale???s Road, to the QEH.

Motorists are asked to comply with all directions given by police officers in uniform.

CROP OVER MONARCH CONCERT

A number of traffic changes will be in effect during the hosting of the 40th anniversary Crop Over Monarch in Concert on Friday, July 25, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

During that time, Codrington Road from its junction with Stadium Road to its junction with Bush Hall, and Stadium Road, from its junction with Codrington Road to its junction with Bush Hall Main Road, St. Michael, will be closed to all vehicular traffic except those vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

In addition, no parking or waiting will be allowed along Codrington Road, Bush Hall Main Road, Waterford Road, Bow Road or Butler???s Avenue. Motorists will only be allowed to drop off passengers along this route.

Persons will also be prohibited from parking or waiting along the emergency route which begins at the National Stadium and proceeds along Bank Hall, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road and Martindale???s Road, St. Michael.

Similar rules will apply along the alternative emergency route which also starts at the National Stadium and travels along Butler???s Avenue, Spooners Hill, Green Hill, and on to the Everton Weekes, Clyde Walcott, and Norman Niles roundabouts, before going on to My Lord???s Hill Road, Welches Road, Belmont Road and Martindale???s Road.
