The Environmental Health Department at the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, Warrens, St. Michael, will conduct training sessions next week for food vendors, food handlers, and other persons associated with the serving, preparation and sale of food during Crop Over.

The training will be held in the polyclinic’s car park from Monday, July 18, to Friday, July 22, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  All persons associated with serving, preparation and the sale of food will be educated about the five keys to food safety, which include:

  • Cleaning
  • Separation of raw and cooked foods
  • Cooking food thoroughly
  • Keeping food at safe temperatures
  • The use of safe water and raw materials

All COVID-19 protocols will be in place throughout the training sessions.
