Caribbean nationals pursuing studies in tourism, hospitality or language training are reminded that they can apply for a number of scholarships being offered by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO).

Information on the scholarships being offered and corresponding deadlines can be accessed by visiting http://bit.ly/ctoscholarships. Grants are available for persons pursing studies at the certificate, diploma, associate degree, first degree or master???s levels.

Among the awards on offer is the Arley Sobers Scholarship, which is open to persons employed in local tourism organisations such as the Ministry of Tourism or the Board of Tourism, who wish to strengthen their skills in the areas of research and statistics. Mr. Sobers is the CTO???s former Director of Research and Information.

The scholarship programme is administered by the CTO Foundation whose objective is to provide opportunities for Caribbean nationals to pursue studies in tourism and related areas.

To be selected for these awards, individuals must demonstrate high levels of achievement and leadership both inside and outside of the classroom and must express a strong interest in making a positive contribution to Caribbean tourism. The deadline for the submission of applications is Wednesday, April 15.
