The Customs and Excise Department’s sterling contribution to the island’s economic development will come into sharp focus next week during the organisation’s 107th Anniversary celebrations.

Under the theme A Legacy of Service and Partnership, the activities will get under way this Sunday, August 26, with a church service at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Black Rock, St. Michael, starting at 8:30 a.m.??

On Wednesday, August 29, there will be an art and craft exhibition in the conference room of the Warrens Office Complex, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.?? Also on that day, representatives from the Barbados Cancer Society will speak on the topic: Early Detection of Cancer during the lunch time lecture from noon until 1:00 p.m., in the lecture theatre also located in the Warrens Office Complex.

It will be a night of fun and excitement during the department’s T20 night cricket match on Friday, August 31, at the Briar Hall Community Centre, Briar Hall, Christ Church, starting at 7:00 p.m.

The events will culminate with a 5K run and walk on Saturday, September 1, starting at the Barbados Port Inc., University Row, St. Michael, beginning at 6:00 a.m.
