From next Monday, September 24, members of the public doing business with various departments of the Customs and Excise Department will be able to make payments using debit and credit cards.

According to an official of that Department, this form of payment is expected to facilitate revenue collection by making the payment process easier.

Those locations which will be accepting debit/credit card payments are: the Accounts Section, Ground Floor, Barbados Port Inc. Building, University Drive, St. Michael; Shed Two, Deep Water, Harbour; Princess Alice Highway; Value Added Tax Division, Weymouth Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street, St. Michael; Central Records Office and Entry Processing Unit, Terminal Two, Grantley Adams International Airport, Christ Church.

All relevant personnel at the Customs and Excise Department have been trained in the use of the debit/credit card machines in preparation for the new service.
