The Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU), in collaboration with the Caribbean Youth Environment Network Barbados chapter, will host its second underwater cleanup on Saturday, July 9, at Enterprise Beach (Miami Beach), Enterprise, Christ Church, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Scuba divers and other interested persons are asked to meet near the washroom facilities at 6:30 a.m. They should also contact Sadie-Ann Sisnett or Richard Suckoo at the CZMU by Wednesday, July 6, to confirm participation in the underwater cleanup.

The officers may be reached by emailing ssisnett@coastal.gov.bb, or rsuckoo@coastal.gov.bb, respectively, or calling 622-1610.

The second in a series of underwater cleanups around the island to mark the 50th anniversary of independence, the activities form part of a larger project called CleanBim which brings together agencies, companies and non-governmental organisations to engage the public, create awareness and encourage residents to clean Barbados and keep the environment clean.

The cleanups will take place on the second Saturday of each month and will run until September.
