Dairy Famers’ in Barbados will get the opportunity to discuss their profession, as well as other key related topics, at a seminar next Tuesday, March 23, at the Ministry of Agriculture, Graeme Hall, Christ Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Under the theme Optimising resources for sustainable Dairy Farming in Barbados, the workshop, sponsored by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Barbados Agricultural Society (BAS), will seek to address a number of pertinent issues.

Topics to be discussed include: New technologies from the dairy expo; management experiences in pasture management; strategic management of pastures in dry conditions experienced in Barbados; feeding of the dairy animal for optimum output (quality and quantity) as well as a report on forage analysis and milk quality for 2009.
