Chief of Protocol, Philip St. Hill, is optimistic about new opportunities to strengthen relations between Denmark and Barbados, with the presentation of the Exequatur to formalise Britta Pollard, as Honourary Counsul.

The handing over ceremony took place Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

Saying that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was very interested in the function of its Honorary Counsuls and bringing greater prominence to their role,

Mr. St. Hill, pledged the Ministry’s assistance to Ms. Pollard in the execution of her duties.

The Honorary Counsel, who was born in Denmark, and has lived in Barbados for the past 33 years, promised to pursue new avenues that would lead to greater opportunities for Barbadians and the Danes.

An exequatur is a patent which is issued by a head of state to a foreign counsul that guaranteed his/her rights and privileges of office and their right to exercise such powers.
