Department (NHD) will be hosting De Heart Uh Barbados 10th series of races on Saturday, June 16, at 6:00 a.m.

This event, which started as a community activity in 2003 with the assistance of the local residents and business enterprises, has developed into a national event. ??Several community enterprises such as Big Boy Barber Shop; Cel’s Canteen; Two Guys Supermarket; Mount Wilton Plantation; Steve’s Building Works; and Ariel Trek contribute to the success of the event, thus ensuring its continuity.

The 10K run and 5K walk will take participants through De Heart Uh Barbados communities which include – Sturges & Bloomsbury, Chapman’s/Carrington’s Village, Vault Road & Welchman Hall, Bryan’s Road, Allen View, Highland, Lion Castle and Hopewell, and finishes at the Project House, all in St. Thomas.

Prizes are for the first male and female finisher in each of the age categories – U15 (walk only, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); U20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59, 60-64 and 65+. This is in addition to prizes for the overall and community winners.

The event has attracted new sponsors this year: Brand Fea, and Carib Rehab, in addition to the regular contributors – Cave Shepherd & Co. Ltd., Sports & Games, Jenn Health and Beauty, Mademoiselle, and Stantec Engineering.

Entry Forms are available from Surfside Gym (Wildey and Warrens), Little League Gym, First Class Gym, and the National Sports Council.
