Deacons Primary School will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with an Awards Ceremony and Gala on Sunday, June 28, at Bagatelle Great House, Bagatelle, St. Thomas, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The event, which will be held under the theme: Building on Our Legacy, seeks to reward the contributions and accomplishments of founding members and past students of that institution.
The school will honour Principal Shirley Marshall for her over 40 years service to that institution, first as a teacher, senior teacher and Principal.
She is also recognised as the author of Deacons??? School Song. Ms. Marshall, who is on pre-retirement leave, retires in September.??Teacher Cynthia Moore, who has also spent over four decades at Deacons, will be among several teachers and community workers to be honoured that evening.
