Persons interested in studying in Japan, from next year, are invited to apply for a number of scholarships being offered by the Japanese Government.

Research programmes for students will be available from April 2012 to March 2014 and October 2012 to March 2014. Both programmes will include six months of Japanese language instruction.

Undergraduate programmes will be offered for a seven-year period, from April 2012 to March 2019, for those majoring in medicine and related fields including dentistry and veterinary medicine. Pharmacology will, however, be offered as a six-year course.

For persons seeking to major in any other field of study, five-year scholarship programmes will be on offer for the period April 2012 to March 2017.

All programmes at the undergraduate level will include one year of Japanese language instruction.

Successful applicants for scholarship programmes will be required to sit an examination and attend an interview, both of which will be held in Trinidad.
