The public is reminded that the deadline for filing objections to the Valuation Notices issued by the Land Tax Department on Monday, June 20, is Friday, July 22.
The notification sent to landowners should contain the following information: name and address of the owner; valuation map and reference number; the valuation date; location of the property; the area of the property in both imperial and metric measurements; the current area of the property in both imperial and metric measurements; the current use of the property and the site and improved values of the property.
In the event that taxpayers disagree with any of the details listed, they must contact the Land Tax Department as soon as possible.
The public is further reminded that the four grounds for objections are: the values shown are either too high or low; the person named in the notice is not the owner of the land; or the land which had been valued separately should have been incorporated with other lands; and the land which has been incorporated with other lands should have been valued separately.
All objections should be sent to the Commissioner of Land Tax, National Insurance Building, Fairchild Street, the City. The valuation notice is not a bill and there is no due date for payment.
