The Barbados Defence Force will conduct a series of training exercises in preparation for Cricket World Cup 2007 which is being hosted in the region from March 11 to 28 April.
These training exercises will consist of site visits to some of the designated playing fields where military personnel will practice various tactics and techniques.
The area designated for the training sessions will be up to a radius of two kilometres from the venues and the days and locations are: Thursday, February 01, and Friday, February 02, at the 3W’s Oval, Cave Hill Campus; and Thursday, February 08, at the Winward Cricket Club.
All training sessions will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with the military personnel bearing weapons, and dressed in camouflage uniforms.
The Barbados Defence Force apologises for any inconvenience caused and is advising all residents who live near the selected venues to take note of the exercises and not to be alarmed.
