With the hurricane season officially starting on Friday, June 1, members of staff of the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) are trying to ensure that the public is kept well informed about preparations for this year’s season.?? They will hold a free public lecture on Saturday, June 2, at the Sherbourne Conference Centre, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Former Acting Director of the Central Emergency Relief Organisation, Mr. Clive Lorde will chair the discussion and panelists will include DEM Director, Judy Thomas; Telecommunications Officer 1, Ronald Kennedy; Distribution Engineer at the Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd., Kim Leacock, and Business Development Manager at Harmony General Insurance Company Ltd., Mr. Andy Toppin.
Members of the public are invited to attend.??
