The Ministry of Health will provide services as usual at the polyclinics during this month, designated, Colgate Oral Health Month.

According to Senior Dental Officer, Dr. Fannye Thompson, "The Dental Health Services will continue to participate in the ???Bright Smiles, Bright Futures’ Campaign of the Colgate-Palmolive Health Month, providing primary school-aged children with oral health education throughout the island."

However, the Dental clinics will not be providing free dental treatments to all persons at polyclinics.

She was responding to an announcement carried on the morning and evening CBC News broadcast on Sunday, October 4, which stated that free dental services would be provided to all persons at polyclinics.

She stressed: "The offer of free services for October by Colgate Palmolive will be limited to oral health screenings at select locations and not at the polyclinics."

The Ministry of Health regrets any inconvenience caused as a result of the announcement and has advised that, as usual, it would continue to offer free dental services to persons up to the age of 18, and limited services to pensioners and antenatal clients.
