The Diabetes Association of Barbados will hold a Market Day Extravaganza on Thursday, March 31, at its headquarters, Corner Jessamine Ave, Beckles Road, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A wide variety of vegetables, fruits, plants and jewellery will be on sale, and patrons will also find bargains on household items and health books. Refreshments will also be on sale.
In addition, persons will have an opportunity to receive blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, as well as information about living and coping with diabetes and delaying early onset diabetes for high-risk individuals.
Free dental checks and advice will be available, and there will be a chance to win a free blood sugar monitor and a prize hamper.??Patrons will enjoy performances by the students of Bay Primary and the Seventh-Day Adventist Secondary, the Diabetes Association of Barbados’ Southern Region Choir, as well as line dancing, ballroom dancing and a kids??? zone.
