Disaster Risk Management will be the focus of a training exercise when the Central Liaison Office of the Regional Security System, in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Management, coordinates a session on this particular topic in their 2011 basic course.
Aimed at introducing participants to Disaster Management Systems in the region and providing them with the basic knowledge to allow them to be able to effect basic operations, both at home and regionally; the exercise was also designed to give partakers the basic tools to be able to operate safely and effectively in a Light Urban Search & Rescue operation or mass casualty incident in support of other Emergency management entities.
The Programme also included the following areas:?? Introduction to Disaster Management; Disaster Management Organisations and Systems; Incident Command System; Mass Casualty Management; Introduction to Urban Search & Rescue and a Functional Exercise.
