Interested persons involved in building and construction, energy efficiency and related sectors are encouraged to register for the upcoming CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code.

The webinar, themed: What’s in It for Me? A Discussion on the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code, will be held on Wednesday, September 30, starting at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.

The webinar is the first in a series under the Technical Assistance Programme for Sustainable Energy in the Caribbean, which has partnered with the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE).

The aim is to examine the importance of using energy efficiency codes within a Caribbean context during the construction process and to answer any questions so as to clear-up any ‘grey’ areas participants may have regarding the requirements of the Code.

Stakeholders will hear presentations from Chairman of the CARICOM Regional Organization for Standards and Quality’s Regional Project Team for the development of the Building Code, Churchill Norbert; CCREEE’s Energy Expert, Cornelia Schenck; and Civil Engineer, Amoy Theobalds-Prospere.

Participants may register by emailing the Barbados National Standards Institution at jplatt@bnsi.com.bb or bnsi.office@barbados.gov.bb
