Within a few days, the Dover Pavilion at Dover, Christ Church, will receive a name change.

It will be renamed the Lashley-Williams Pavilion after two outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to sports in Barbados. The ceremony will be held this Friday, September 4, at Dover Pavilion, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Minister of Youth, Family and Sports, Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, and Minister of Transport and Works, John Boyce, will deliver addresses.

Dover Pavilion was constructed in 1982 to accommodate the growing number of sports in the area. It is now the home to cricket, football, netball, basketball and road tennis.

The pavilion, playing field and hard court were refurbished last year as part of the Barbados Tourism Investment Incorporation’s redevelopment project.
