Promoting consumer protection will come under the microscope, next week, when the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, hosts a two-day seminar to educate the public about consumerism.

The seminar is slated for Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22, at the Amaryllis Beach Resort, Hastings, Christ Church, starting at 9:00 a.m., each day.

During the sessions, resource persons drawn from agencies such as the Inter-American Development Bank, Consumers International, the Consumer Affairs Department in Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, in Jamaica, will speak on subjects such as Consumer Protection in Financial Services and the Structure of Financial Markets and Institutions in the Region.

Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr. David Estwick, will deliver the feature address.??jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
