The Solid Waste Project Unit, in collaboration with the Future Centre Trust, will host a poster competition targeting primary school students in the six to eight year-old, and nine to 11 year-old age groups in recognition of Earth Day 2013 which will be celebrated on April 22.

The competition entitled: What Does it Mean to be Green, runs from March 10 to April 15, and is aimed at educating students about issues involved in environmental conservation, preservation through recycling and proper waste management.

Posters should feature ways in which people can be environmentally responsible or green. The posters should be full colour or black and white, and made with crayon, coloured pencil, water colour, pen, marker or paint. They should also be submitted on 11×17 paper.

Only one entry is allowed per child.

Entries should be sent to the Future Centre Trust, Little Edgehill, St. Thomas, no later than April 15.
