The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has denounced the reported violence exhibited by students this morning, on a Transport Board school bus.

In a statement, the Ministry said it had been made aware of “a fracas involving students of two of our secondary schools” and that there “might have been some injuries because of this commotion”.

The statement further added that Ministry officials were awaiting communication from the Royal Barbados Police Force and principals of the respective schools before making any additional comments about the incident. However, officials decried any violent behaviour among school children.

“The Ministry nevertheless frowns on this type of behaviour and urges all students to conduct themselves in a manner which exemplifies the highest decorum and behaviour possible,” the statement said.
