Education Month march. (FP)

Education Month 2016 will begin with divine worship on Monday, October 3, at the Mile and A Quarter Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Hopeland, St. Peter, at 10:00 a.m.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will officially launch the Month under the theme: Education: Fifty and Beyond, signalling its commemoration of over 50 years in education on the island, as well as the country’s 50th anniversary of Independence.

Education Minister, Ronald Jones; and Chief Education Officer, Karen Best, will address the congregation of educators, students and specially invited guests, while Pastor Leslie Padmore will deliver the sermonette.

Mr. Jones will also take the salute, inspect the guard of honour and await the arrival of the Commemorative Broken Trident at the church.

The programme will witness the involvement of students from primary and secondary schools in the north, and it is expected that various schools from across the island will be represented at the service.
