As part of the events to mark the Month of the Disabled, the Elayne Scantlebury Centre in St. Andrew will host a number of activities.

Activities will begin with divine worship on Sunday, March 1 at the Church of God Reformation Movement, Belleplaine, St. Andrew from 9:00 a.m.

This will be followed by a seminar on Tuesday, March 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the same venue. The seminar, which will be held under the theme “Driven by Our Vision”, is intended to challenge the staff of the institution to visualise their personal and institutional goals and to take positive action to realise their vision. 

Senior Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Elizabeth Ferdinand will deliver the feature address, at 9:00 a.m.

Key facilitators include Director of the National Assistance Board (Ag) Clayton Springer; Dietitian, Julian Rowe; Infection Control Officer, Joan Finch; Staff Nurse, Gail Ellis; and Special Needs Educator, Allyson Pennigan.

The week will culminate on Friday, March 6, with an Open Day at the Centre from 10:30 a.m. This will see residents and staff of the institution displaying various craft and other items produced in-house.

Members of the public are invited to support the special week of activities.
