The Manpower Research and Statistical Unit (MRSU) of the Ministry of Labour has commenced the administration of its Employer Surveys, under the Skills for the Future Program.

The surveys will be used to gather the perspectives of various employers on the skills gaps and requirements within the Barbadian workforce. This will provide educational providers, training institutions and stakeholders with the information necessary to ensure that training programmes are relevant to the needs of employers.

Surveys are currently open to all employers in the International Business and Finance and Manufacturing sectors. These can be completed online via this link. The distribution of surveys across these sectors will continue until Friday, April 21.

For the Cultural and Creative Industries, surveys will be open to employers from Monday, April 17 to Friday, May 26; and to employers in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry from Monday, April 24, to Monday, June 26.

Enumerators from the consulting firms MRSB Consulting and Kaizen Business Development Inc., as well as Field Investigators from the Ministry of Labour will also be calling employers to assist with the completion of surveys by phone or in person.

Employers are reminded that their participation is vital to capturing representative information, and supporting well informed decision-making by labour market stakeholders.
