The Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development will stage an Empowerment Fair this Saturday, October 15, as part of activities to observe International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

The Fair, which seeks to assist vulnerable persons within the society, will be held at Queen’s Park, Bridgetown, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Representatives of governmental, community, faith-based and non-governmental organisations will be present to share information and answer queries on a wide range of topics such as operating a small business, seeking a job,

education and training, housing programmes, assistance for the elderly and Persons with Disabilities, developing healthy practices, community empowerment and welfare services.

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty will be observed on Monday, October 17, and this year’s theme is: From Poverty to Sustainability: People at the Centre of Inclusive Development.
