Barbadians will join millions across the globe in marking International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, with an Empowerment Fair this coming Sunday, October 17.

The fair, which takes place at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, St. Ann’s Garrison, St. Michael, starts at 2:00 p.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m.

It will be held under the theme "From Poverty to decent Work: Bridging the Gap."

Coordinated by the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, the fair will also be an opportunity to find out more about the Ministry’s programmes, policies and services.

There will also be musical and dance performances, a craft corner for small business persons, children’s entertainment and an opportunity view the museum’s exhibits. The admission is free. askeete@barbados.gov.bb
