The Ministry of Health has ordered the removal of some batches of Enfamil baby formula from the island’s distribution chain, as a precautionary measure, following testing conducted by its officials.

A senior official said: “Stokes and Bynoe, the local agent for Mead Johnson Nutritionals, the manufacturer of Enfamil baby formula, is cooperating with the Ministry of Health to ensure that only products which are safe are available to be purchased by consumers.

“The Ministry of Health is in the process of conducting definitive testing of the suspected batches of Enfamil baby formula to determine the future usage of this product.”

The public is advised that, according to Ministry of Health investigations, “the suspected products did not reach the distribution point in supermarkets or pharmacies”.
