The Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health is offering a number of certified training courses during June and August.

Courses scheduled for June are Introduction to Basic Food Safety (June 8 to 12), Introduction to Institutional Hygiene (June 15 to 19) and Introduction to Vector Control (June 22 to 26). The Vector Control course will also be held from August 10 to 14.

The course in food safety is open to all food handlers, as well as other interested members of the public, while the course in institutional hygiene is open to all levels of workers in an institution, from general workers to managerial staff, whose function has an impact on the level of care of the client.

Interested persons not working in an institutional setting may also attend.??The courses in vector control are open to maintenance personnel in public and private sector agencies, as well as interested members of the public.

All courses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will take place at the Environmental Health Training Centre, 2nd Floor British American Insurance Building, Magazine Lane, Bridgetown.

Interested persons may collect registration forms from the Environmental Health Department, Ministry of Health, 4th Floor, Frank Walcott Building, Culloden Road, St. Michael, and return the completed forms to the Accounts Department, Barbados Community College, Howells Cross Road, St. Michael.
