Officials of the Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health will conduct a mosquito and rodent surveillance exercise in St. Philip for three consecutive weekends.

The exercise will begin on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 and will continue on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 and Saturday, October 8 and Sunday October 9, from 830 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Environmental Health Officers will visit the following areas to conduct the inspection of households and businesses in Belair, Atlantic Park, Seaview, Ginger Bay, Long Bay, Union, Eastbourne, Wellhouse, Winward Gardens, Bushy Park, Beaulah, Parish Land, Lynches, Harry Smith, Merricks and Coles Terrace.?? Officers will be wearing identification badges.

The Vector Control Unit will also conduct fogging operations in these districts from 4.30 p.m. Consequently, householders are asked to assist by opening windows and door to allow the fog to penetrate. ??Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.?? Parents are also advised to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
