Environmental health issues will take centre stage soon when members of staff attached to the Environmental Health Department of the St. Philip Polyclinic host a one-day educational seminar this Friday, February 28. It will be held at the St. Philip Environmental Health Office at Six Roads.

The topics to be covered are: Bed Bugs Identification and Control; Food Safety and its Importance to the Consumer; Mosquito Control and Diseases of Significance; The Role of the Environmental Health Officer/Assistant; and Rodent Control and the need to prevent Leptospirosis, Rat Bite Fever and Hanta Fever.

Those participating in the session will include members of the Royal Barbados Police Force, Her Majesty’s Prison, the post office, the National Library Service, the Barbados Fire Service, as well as teachers and the dental staff.
