Children who wish to enter the National Library Service’s Children’s Essay Competition entitled “Barbados a Republic- What it means to me” have been given two additional weeks to prepare their submissions.

The National Library Service is encouraging children between the ages of 14 and 17 to take part in the competition which is being held in collaboration with the Barbados Cooperative Credit Union Ltd. Prizes include a gold award of $2,500.00, a silver award of $1,500.00 and a bronze award worth $1,000.00.

Essays including the title, the child’s name, national registration number, email address and telephone number should be emailed to republicessay@nls.gov.bb on or before November 24.
