Child Month celebrations will continue over the next few weeks, with the Ministry of Health staging a number of events on Mondays and Thursdays at the Winston Scott Polyclinic, Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael.

Child Care Officer, Julie Hall, will speak about Asthma, on Thursday, May 8, and The Rights of the Child will be examined by Communications Specialist at UNICEF, Patrick Knight on Monday, May 12, while on Thursday, May 15, the Winston Scott Dental Department will host a lecture entitled: Care of Your Child???s Teeth.

The following week, on Monday, May 19, nutritionist, Dr. Mark Alleyne will examine the topic of Malnutrition and this will be followed by an exhibition of nutritious foods by various companies.

Claudette Scott of Paredos will be the featured speaker on Thursday, May 22, and she will take a look at Parenting, while on Monday, May 26, Charmaine Roland-Bowen of the Barbados Road Safety Association will discuss Road Safety. All sessions will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Events will culminate on Thursday, May 29 at the polyclinic with the staging of a Kids In House Fun Day. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., it will feature a Mascot, face painting, and there will be exhibits from a number of companies. This year, Child Month is being held under the theme: Let???s Embrace and Appreciate Our Children???.
