The trends and patterns in gun-related homicides in Barbados for the past three years will be scrutinised when officials in the Criminal Justice and Research Planning Unit (CJRPU) release the results of a study on such crimes next week.

Senior Statistician in the Unit, Tameshia Howell, will present the findings to the public in a webinar entitled An Examination of Gun-Related Homicides in Barbados from 2018 – 2020 on Thursday, November 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The aim of the research was to explore the trends and patterns in homicides over the three-year period; examine a profile of victims and alleged perpetrators of gun-related killings; and to facilitate discussion on the way forward for tackling gun violence in Barbados.

Interested persons may register by clicking here. The webinar is part of the CJRPU’s month of activities, under the theme Fighting Crime Using Research.
