Barbadians are being asked to come out in their numbers for Exercise In The City, on World Health Day, Saturday, April 7.

The event, which kicks off at 6:00 a.m. from Independence Square, is an initiative of the Ministry of Health’s National Task Force on Physical Activity and Exercise.

An exercise programme has been designed for the public and participants will be divided into three groups: Walk and Chip, for beginners; Jog and Sweat, which will offer an intermediate workout; and Run and Have Fun, for fitness enthusiasts. Participants will exercise throughout Bridgetown, led by qualified fitness instructors, and they will return to Independence Square where the event will conclude.

In an effort to keep individuals hydrated, officials in the Ministry of Health have urged those taking part to bring a bottle of water. Admission is free and Barbadians of all ages are invited.
