The Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) Council is looking for a few good men and women who are experts in their respective fields to train participants for next year’s WorldSkills International Competition.

The competition will take place in Kazan, Russia, and participants need to meet the standards as set out by WorldSkills International. The Council is, therefore, inviting Expressions of Interest for the role of Expert for the following skills: Car Painting, Cooking, Fashion Technology, Graphic Design Technology, Hairdressing and Restaurant Service.

Applicants are encouraged to apply on the basis of their demonstrable attributes which may have been developed in a wide range of vocational and or occupational settings.

The Expressions of Interest should address the role description and person specification. Additionally, persons must include an updated curriculum vitae.

All applicants must ensure that they have the full support of their current employer prior to applying for the role, and employers must countersign the application to confirm they understand the commitment required for the role. The WorldSkills Barbados Experts are expected to make a major contribution to the enhanced performance and wellbeing of WorldSkills Barbados competitors at the international competition.

They will also help develop and maintain the WorldSkills competition in a particular skill; oversee and participate in the training of competitors for the WorldSkills Competition; participate in the WorldSkills Kazan Competition as Barbados’ designated expert; and support the development of the WorldSkills Barbados Programme to ensure it meets WorldSkills International Standards.
