The Barbados Revenue Authority has advised business entities, financial institutions and members of the public to be extra vigilant in relation to the surfacing of counterfeit cheques that falsely appear to be issued by that agency.
According to a press release from the Authority, it has become aware that ???persons have presented fraudulent cheques purporting to be from the Revenue Authority in attempts to encash them???.
The statement continued: ???Please note that entities who accept such cheques as payment do so at their own risk. ???Anyone who is suspicious of any such cheque should contact the Authority at 430-3101, or bramail@bra.gov.bb, or inform the Royal Barbados Police Force???.
