Young people who care about preserving the natural world around them will have the opportunity to share their views in an artistic way.

It will come in the form of this year’s Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Foundation Children’s Environmental Poster Contest.

The competition features two age categories: the Junior Division will cater to children ages 12 and under, and contestants should not have passed their 13th birthday by May 30, 2012 and the Senior Division will be open to children ages 13 to 16, who should not have passed their 17th birthday by May 30, 2012.

To enter, each participant must submit one poster and select a topic of his/her choice which supports environmental awareness.??The poster should depict at least three ways in which the entrant’s destination could make a difference in preserving the environment.

Words may be used to highlight the ideas illustrated, and a title and summary description, in English, must accompany the poster. Submissions should be made on standard size (22" by 28") Bristol board.

FCCA cash scholarships will be awarded to the successful entries: in both divisions, first, second and third prize winners and their schools will each be awarded US$3000, US$1500 and US$1000 respectively.

First place winners from each category, and their respective classes, will also attend an exclusive event, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Tourism.?? In addition, all other finalists will each receive US$200.
