Barbadians will have one last opportunity to join the current discussion on the future of the agricultural sector.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management will host its third and final meeting on agriculture on Monday, June 18, at the Alexandra School, Speightstown, St. Peter, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Entitled A National Dialogue on Food and Agriculture, the sessions are a forum for farmers, agriculturalists, agronomists, ministry officials and interested members of the public to discuss critical areas pertaining to the sector.

The information garnered at the meetings is expected to go towards the development of a White Paper on Agriculture.

The preparation of that document is the first step in a process that should lead to the transformation and the repositioning of the local agricultural sector.

It is expected that the White Paper on Agriculture will be available for perusal in a month’s time.

Persons may also visit the Ministry of Agriculture’s website at http://www.agriculture.gov.bb/ to share their views on the sector.
