The final meeting to sensitise the business community about the draft Customs Bill will be held next Wednesday, August 26, via Zoom.

It will begin at 1:00 p.m., and those persons who want to participate in the virtual consultation should email the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) at bcci@barbadoschamber.com or register by clicking here.

Those members of the business community who are interested in participating in the session are encouraged to read the appropriate parts of the Bill in advance, and come ready to provide their feedback and comments.

The consultation is being hosted by the BCCI, in association with the Customs and Excise Department.

Its objectives are to highlight the proposed changes to the legislation, and help the business community get a better understanding of Barbados’ obligations under the World Trade Organization, the Trade Facilitation Agreement and CARICOM, and how they translate into customs requirements for import and export processes.
