The final lecture in the Barbados Museum and Historical Society’s 2009 series “Slavery in Barbados” will take place this coming Tuesday, April 14, with a presentation on slavery resistance.

Entitled “Testing the Chains: Resistance to Slavery”, it will be delivered by University lecturer and historian, Dr. Alvin Thompson, at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, starting at 8:00 p.m.

Since the series began in February, there were presentations by Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles; Professor Emeritus, Woodville Marshall, Dr. Marcia Burrowes and Dr. Karl Watson, among others.

“Slavery in Barbados” is being held in conjunction with the Department of History of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
