Throughout the month of June, the public has had the opportunity to embrace the natural surroundings, learn more about the concept of Living Sustainably…Towards a Green Economy, and enjoy the green readings and coastal walks held in honour of Environment Month. This final weekend of celebrations will be no different, with several activities scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 25.

The morning will see the staging of a farmer’s market at the Natural Heritage Department, Sturges, St. Thomas, at 6:00 a.m.?? That Department will also host the Grape Fruit & Molasses Foodies Trail, which will feature a nature tour and highlight natural products, later in the day.

The National Conservation Commission will open its doors to the public for a plant sale at its Codrington, St. Michael, headquarters, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and the day will climax with a Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU) beach walk, from Ragged Point, St. Philip, to Conset Bay, St. John.?? Interested persons may contact the CZMU at 228-5950 for passes.
