Barbadians will begin to receive training in financial literacy and money management when the sessions commence at centres across the island from next week.

On Thursday, November 5, residents of St. George will receive training in Setting Financial Goals and Budgeting for Life at the Ellerton Community Centre, while those living in the Valley will be given an Introduction to Financial Literacy at the Valley Resource Centre.

A session on Introduction to Financial Literacy will be conducted at the Frederick Smith Secondary School, Trents, St. James, while residents living in the south of the island will benefit from tips on Surviving on Unemployment Benefits at the Christ Church Foundation School, Church Hill, Christ Church.

On Tuesday, November 10, the sessions to be conducted will be Surviving on Unemployment Benefits at the Ellerton Community Centre; Setting Financial Goals and Budgeting for Life at Frederick Smith Secondary; and Introduction to Financial Literacy at the Emmerton Resource Centre, The City. 

At the Alexandra School, Queen Street, St. Peter, the topic for discussion will be Costing and Pricing for Business.

Each session runs from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the session at Christ Church Foundation School, which will commence at 5:30 and end at 7:00 p.m. Participants may register by clicking this link.
