The importance of a vibrant financial services industry to the sustained economic development of the region, will be discussed extensively when a Regional Meeting on Financial Services convenes on Monday, December 9, at 9:00 a.m. at the Radisson Aquatica Resort, Aquatic Gap, St. Michael.

Chaired by Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, the meeting, which is a collaboration between Barbados and the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), will address the severe challenges facing the industry in light of the global economic crisis.

The agenda will look at: the development of a strategic direction relating to the continued growth of the industry; developing recommendations pertaining to the governance structure of the regional initiative and the strategic engagement of the Overseas Countries and Territories in the overall process.
