It was an afternoon of fun and nostalgia as Ministers, former work colleagues and contemporaries gathered last Friday at the Atlantis Hotel & Restaurant in St. Joseph to bid farewell to Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Teresa-Anne Marshall.

Set to officially retire on November 28, after working in the Ministry for 36 years, with 11 of them as PS, Ms. Marshall was lauded for her strong work ethic and dedication to the Foreign Service, as well as being instrumental in a number of crucial policy making decisions.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, in commending Ms. Marshall, noted that she had left a good legacy, was a consummate professional, and helped shape the careers of her colleagues and juniors for the better.

Guests at the retirement function included former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dame Billie Miller; Minister of Health, Donville Inniss, who was a former Minister of State in the Ministry; PS in the Ministry of Social Care; Sonja Welch, PS Keith Franklin, as well as former Permanent Secretary, Branford Goddard and Consultant Dr. Annalee Babb.

Earlier in the day tributes also poured in from various overseas Missions.??tblackman@barbados.gov.bb
