Business owners are reminded that in accordance with the Safety and Health at Work Act, and the Shops Act, all workplaces must be inspected for fire and life safety annually by the Chief Fire Officer.
They are also reminded that certificates issued are valid for one year from the date of inspection, and must therefore be renewed by paying an inspection fee on making the request for inspection.
Such requests and payments should be made to the Barbados Fire Service Headquarters, Level 5, General Post Office Building, Cheapside, Bridgetown, at least two months before the expiration date of the present certificate.
