The Barbados Fire Service will commence a week of activities under the theme: Working for a Safer Society, from Sunday, September 28, until Saturday, October 4, in celebration of its 59th anniversary.

Activities will start with a thanksgiving service at the Calvary Moravian Church, Roebuck Street, St. Michael, on Sunday, September 28, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Bridgetown Fire Station at Probyn Street, St. Michael, will be home to the remaining activities for the week, starting with a Health and Safety Extravaganza on Monday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m., as firemen encourage members of the public to pay closer attention to these areas.

On Tuesday, September 30, the public will have an opportunity to tour the Bridgetown Fire Station from 10:00 a.m., to see how it operates daily. Fire officers will also show off their technical skills in a drill display.

Later that evening, members of the public are invited to take part in a general knowledge quiz from 7:00 p.m.??On Friday October 3, the public is again invited to the Bridgetown Fire Station at Probyn Street, for a Social Evening and Games Night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The week of activities will conclude with a Family Fun Fair at the station on Saturday, October 4, beginning at 1:30 p.m. All are invited.
